High-Neck Lace Maxi Dress: Forever21

Bralette (Similar): Urban Outfitters

Black Pencil Skirt (Similar): Urban Outfitters

Black Booties: Sold out on Forever 21 🙁

Necklace: Sold Out

Hello, everyone! Today I decided to go a little bold and wear this lace maxi dress that is completely see through so I paired it with my go-to black bralette and this short pencil skirt. I absolutely love this look because it’s perfect for the month of October which is nearing very soon.  The dress itself is very elegant but pairing it with some boots makes it more casual and that is what I was going for. This would also be a perfect outfit for a festival!

Now my favorite part of this outfit has to be the boots. I first saw these boots on a fashion bloggers Instagram post and I fell in love. The gold cut out heel is so unique and makes the boots so much more retro. I cannot tell you how many compliments I got on these ha-ha. So these are definitely going to be a big statement piece in my wardrobe!

Striped Dolman Sleeve Blouse: Forever21

Skort (Similar): Forever21

Buckles Faux Leather Boots: Forever21

Black Leather Tote Bag: LastCall

Necklace: Sold Out

I think it’s safe to say, I love every monochrome! Most all my outfits include black and white, which I don’t mind at all. But anyway, the blouse I am wearing is this adorable cropped blouse with bat sleeves. I actually have another post featuring this shirt because I love it so much. But this time I paired it with this little black skort! Skorts are something I did not like for a very long time because I guess I didn’t really know how to wear them but lately I’ve been giving them a chance and I think they are actually really cute. (If you pair them correctly).

The boots I am wearing are from Forever 21 and normally I am a fan of their boots because I’ve never had a problem with them before. But I am a little disappointed with these. They are incredibly comfortable and are super grungy and cute but whenever I walk they make this sound like leather rubbing together. (It’s hard to describe the sound). It is really annoying when I’m walking in a quiet area so I am hoping that I just have to break them in and they will stop making this sound but who knows.

Regardless, I really love this outfit (:

Crochet-Paneled Crop Top: Forever21

Floral Lace Trim Maxi Skirt: Forever21

Fringed Bucket Bag: Forever21

Hat (Similar): ASOS

My outfit today was of course, very fall inspired. The cropped sweater I am wearing has a beautiful, detailed design and I love the 70’s inspired sleeves. Makes the sweater a lot cuter. The maxi skirt I am wearing is a pretty burn orange color with lace trim along the sides and there are two slits on each side of the skirt. The purse is my favorite. The fringe design makes this outfit a lot more bohemian and the gold studs tie in with the fall look. And to top it all off, I just added a floppy hate to add a little something.

If you follow my blog, you’ll know that I just visited New York City and I can honestly it say it changed my whole look on life. The atmosphere of all the lights and the people running to catch the next cab is just so invigorating. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to live here.

The plane ride over there was just full of excitement and me attempting to try and stay calm because I didn’t really know what to expect. I’ve visited New York back when I was 12 but back then I just wanted to see the Statue of Liberty and go to Central park. I wasn’t very focused on the lifestyle of New York. And for so long I’ve always said I wanted to move to New York but I didn’t really know much about it, just that it’s the city that never sleeps and if you love fashion, this is the place to be. So I was hopeful that I would love it here but I was also worried it wouldn’t be what I thought it was.

Once I finally got there and stepped out of the subway and looked around, I was hooked. People were passing by holding brief cases, shopping bags, or the arm of a loved one; all traveling different places, living separate lives and all I wanted was to be a part of it. I spent the first day just wandering the streets for hours. Exploring everywhere I could in the short amount of time I had.

I also could not get over the fashion. Here where I live, the outfits I wear are considered “dressy” or I get the “Why are you so dressed up all the time?” question because everyone here mostly wears jeans and a tank top and calls it a day. But in New York, Fashion is EVERYWHERE. Girls dressed head to toe in beautiful outfits just to go shopping or out to lunch with a friend and I love it. I got so many outfit inspirations from just seeing people’s street style and no one looked at anyone thinking. “Wow, she is way too dressed up.”

After exploring as much as I could, I decided where I want to end up living one day (If I can afford it… probs won’t be able to but I can dream!) I would love to live in SoHo. That area is just everything I love. All the buildings are beautiful, there’s actually trees (I do like my greenery) and its very art related. The vibe there just so relaxing and a bit calmer than other parts of Manhattan. SoHo was definitely one of new favorite places.

Here are two of the outfits I wore in New York. The first one, was my night outfit when it got a bit cooler out. I love this dress because it is so comfy, almost like a T-shirt dress but the turtle neck gives it more of a classic look which I love. I paired it with my favorite boots that are in a lot of my blog posts and my tassel purse from forever 21!

The second outfit I did a whole blog post on if you would like to check that out (:

I can’t even put into words how much fun I had on this trip and how magical New York. The whole time I was there, in my head, Taylor Swift’s song “Welcome to New York” kept replaying because everything she wrote it so true.

“Everybody here wanted something more, searching for a sound we haven’t heard before.”

“The lights are so bright but they never blind me.”

“Like any great love, it keeps you guessing. Like any real love, it’s ever changing. Like any true love, it drives you crazy but you know you wouldn’t change anything.”

Coming home from this trip felts so different from any other trip I’ve been on because normally I am excited to come home and sleep in my own bed but this time, my bed didn’t feel the same. I didn’t really feel at home anymore.

Cannot wait to move to New York one day. I don’t know how that’s going to happen, but I am determined to make it happen! (:
