“Paris was a universe: whole and entire unto herself, hollowed and fashioned by history; so she seemed in this age of Napoleon III with her towering buildings, her massive cathedrals, her grand boulevards and ancient winding medieval streets–as vast and indestructible as nature itself. All was embraced by her, by her volatile and enchanted populace thronging the galleries, the theaters, the cafes, giving birth over and over to genius and sanctity, philosophy and war, frivolity and the finest art; so it seemed that if all the world outside her were to sink into darkness, what was fine, what was beautiful, what was essential might there still come to its finest flower. Even the majestic trees that graced and sheltered her streets were attuned to her–and the waters of the Seine, contained and beautiful as they wound through her heart; so that the earth on that spot, so shaped by blood and consciousness, had ceased to be the earth and had become Paris.”

My entire life I have always dreamed about traveling outside of the US. To finally explore different cultures and learn about the vast history of these cities and just gain more perspective.

Well, this past year I finally got myself a passport and decided I am 22 years old and I’m not getting any younger so I might as well explore the world before I have any real responsibilities. So I started thinking, where would be my first adventure? Rome? Barcelona? Ireland? So many beautiful countries and now with my little blue book, they were all at the palm of my hand.

Paris is a magical place you have always heard stories about. “The City of Love”, “The City of Lights”.

I remember watching one of my favorite movies, “Midnight in Paris” and thinking to myself, is it really like that? Endless streets of beautiful buildings that are hundreds of years old, Palaces filled with gold and unbelievable gardens, and of course, the delicious pastries.

So I knew Paris had to be my first stop and let me tell you, any movie you have seen, any picture you have looked at, or any story you have heard does not live up to the beauty Paris. This city was absolutely breathtaking, it almost didn’t feel real! I was only there for a short amount of time but I already know I want to visit again and again!

I love every aspect of Paris but I think if I had to choose my favorite day of sight-seeing, it had to be exploring the Chateau De Versailles. I couldn’t believe there was a time when kings and queens would call this place their home. Huge doesn’t even describe the size of this Palace. I loved walking through each room and learning about the history of each. My favorite had to be “The Hall of mirrors.” My god, was that beautiful. If you are traveling to Paris anytime soon, make sure to add this to your list of places to visit.

FYI: If you plan to visit the Chateau De Versailles, make sure you get there very early in the day because I arrived around 3 pm and the line to get in was about a 2 hour wait. (Also, buy your tickets ahead of time!!)

You also can’t visit Paris without seeing the Arc De Triomphe!! A very touristy spot but it is worth the crowds. I unfortunately was not able to climb to the top of it because I got there too late but I know next time I visit, that will be on my to-do list. I heard the view is amazing.

Paris for me, was the perfect start to my adventures! Traveling is really one of my top passions and I can not wait to visit more amazing cultures that help me grow into a more well-rounded person (sounds kind of lame but it is true, haha!)

Paris will always have a special place in my heart.

Mix-matching prints is one of my newest favorite styles. But, you have to do it very smart and subtle. You can’t just mix a bright yellow & black plaid shirt with purple floral shorts, that wouldn’t make much sense.

When it comes to matching prints, you have to make sure the colors line up. In today’s look, the dominate color is black. So it flows through the whole look with a touch of pink flowers to make the look ‘pop’

Let me know what your newest favorite fashion trend is?!

I am so excited about this look because this one is a little out of my comfort zone! Normally I do not wear body-con dresses but when I saw this denim tie-up dress, I was in love.

I just adore how retro and 50’s inspired it looks. I just picture girls in the 50’s going to lunch on the beach in this look (I dunno, I’m weird).

Anyway, This is also the perfect 4th of July look! You got the red, white, and blue down (:

Check out more amazing pieces by CLAYTON. I am in love this brand. Such beautiful clothes and extremely high quality ones at that.
