London’s Calling

Have you ever dreamed of a visiting a far off land your whole life? You romanticize it and imagine it being this wondrous place that even photos don’t do it justice. But, when you actually visit said place, it isn’t what you expected at all? It’s even better.

London has been on my mind for over a decade now. I used to watch videos about the UK and listen to their beautiful accents and dream of visiting one day. Well, that day finally arrived! I was lucky enough to travel over the pond and see it in all it’s glory. I have never fallen in love with a place so quickly! Endless streets of color and the kindest people. Around every corner is a photo worthy moment so my camera was out at all times! During trips I try not to viewing everything through a lens but this time was extremely hard to put the camera down, haha!

While visiting, I of course had to visit all the popular tourist attractions. That included: Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, and seeing Big Ben. Sadly, Big Ben was under construction so all I was able to see what the hands of the clock… Maybe next time.

One of my favorite spots in London is this lovely cake cafe called, “Peggy Porschen Cakes.” I’m not going to lie, I was most excited for the exterior of this shop. The floral detailing all around the door and the beautiful pastels colors were memorizing. But, the moment I took a bite of their “strawberry champagne cake” I was in heaven. Their pastries are literally to die for! They are all made from scratch and you can definitely tell. I had their summer tea as well and if you love fruity teas, I would definitely recommend.

When visiting, prepare for a 20 minute queue but the wait is worth it and goes by quickly!

As I said before, London is something else. I am so glad it is everything I imagined it would be and better! I wish I could have stayed longer to visit everywhere I wanted to but I couldn’t so another trip is much needed! One of my favorite quotes is:

” When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life” – Samuel Johnson.
